Oddulo.us Help, About, and Contact Info
What the hell is this?
Oddulo.us is research project where the goal is to help you visualize your actual chances when people mention odds. Currently, users submit "odds" such as 1 in 750,000 and Oddulo.us will create a square of pixels that roughly matches the same odds. In the above example, there would be about 750,000 pixels and you would have to mouse over the correct pixel to "win."
Oddulo.us was made by SleazySoft and was created after I made a demo of the odds of winning the lottery. It got a lot of traffic and educated a lot of individuals (me) who were wasting a ton of money on low chance games.
As such, Oddulo.us's terms of use and privacy policy are the same as SleazySoft's.
How do I play?
Just mouse over the huge square of pixels until you find the right one!
But that's impossible!
Exactly! Just imagine if picking each pixel cost one dollar.
So what's the point?
Global Thermonuclear War and the lottery have the same strategy. The only way to win is to not play! (I personally don't agree with this and despite the astronomical odds, I play the lottery weekly for fun).
What do I get if I win?
You get NOTHING! This website is merely for illustrative purposes. All game code is HTML and JavaScript and everything takes place on your computer so we couldn't validate anything.

Oddulo.us doesn't work with browser XYZ!
While Oddulo.us is in development, we are only trying to make it work on IE7 and the latest public version of FireFox. However, this is not a guarantee that it will work on any browser! Despite that, this website should work on any modern web browser that has proper cascading style sheet and javascript support (javascript must be enabled).
We highly recommend FireFox and would urge you to give it a try if you are having trouble with this website.
Sorry, due to time constraints we can't offer technical assistance in getting the website to work. It's free so either it works or it doesn't.
Everything seems inaccurate! What gives?
Everything is an estimation of values entered by the user. At the bottom of every detail page there is an inaccuracy disclosure that gives you the exact amount of pixels presented and a percentage deviation from what was originally prescribed by the user. This is due to rounding, squaring, and optimizations for data storage.
Sometimes a user will enter odds where the first number isn't one. However, the game only allows you to pick one pixel. The script will adjust the odds so that it would be the same if the player had only one choice. You may as well just put 1 for the low odd so you don't confuse anyone.
Who do I contact about this site and it's content?

Please do not contact us for help getting the site to work with your browser. It's still in beta and when it's done and working great in our test browsers we will expand coverage to other browsers. Due to time constraints we can't offer any technical assistance. It's free so either it works or it doesn't.
I can't comment or submit new odds, what gives!?
